Yamaha SS9WR Double Braced Legs Snare Drum Stand with Flip Grip Basket

The Yamaha SS9WR is the most adjustable snare stand in the new series, combining a reversible Flip Grip Basket, Ball Clamp Tilter, double braced legs, and push activated spikes. Flipping the basket arms switches between 12 inch and 14 inch positions, allowing one stand to support multiple instrument sizes without an overly narrow basket setup.

Flexible Basket and Ball Clamp Control

The Flip Grip Basket changes its working position by reversing the basket arms, while the Ball Clamp design gives smooth, nearly infinite angle adjustment with a wing nut. Rotational adjustment provides finer control over strainer placement. The basket arm axis aligns with the upper pipe for stable, intuitive positioning, and the compact tilter design helps the chosen angle remain unchanged during teardown and transit.

Floor Contact and Resonance Support

Oversized rubber feet provide broad floor contact. Built in spikes deploy with a simple push, giving players a quick way to change floor engagement when the surface calls for it. Tone Enhancing Basket Rubber flexes under pressure to help reduce vibration transfer between the drum and stand, allowing the shell to resonate more freely and supporting sustain in the lower register.

The SS9WR adjusts from 44 to 57 cm and weighs 3.9 kg, with 28.6 mm lower tubing and 22.2 mm upper tubing. An ergonomic basket knob, refined wing hardware, and a compact folding leg design complete a platform built for repeatable setup and detailed snare positioning.
