The Pioneer SX-727 is one of the standout receivers from the golden age of hi-fi. Celebrated for its warm, musical sound, excellent phono stage, beautiful blue dial illumination, and classic walnut cabinet, it remains a favorite among vintage audio enthusiasts and collectors.

This is an early-production example (SD serial number), featuring the distinctive champagne-gold faceplate found on some of the earliest SX-727 receivers. The combination of the warm gold finish, brilliant blue dial, and walnut cabinet gives this receiver an especially attractive appearance.

This SX-727 has been professionally serviced, with several critical circuit boards restored and operating adjustments performed to ensure excellent performance and long-term reliability while preserving its original character.

I’ve owned many receivers over the years, but the SX-727 remains one of my personal favorites. Since being serviced, this particular receiver has been used regularly in my home audio system and has performed flawlessly.
