Here for sale we have an EVH Striped Series Frankie electric guitar in Red with Black Stripes Relic finish. Made in Mexico in 2021, this guitar is intended as a tribute to the famed Frankenstein Strat, and features several Van Halen inspired features that make this guitar feel like a very close replica of Eddie's guitar, whilst still coming in at a reasonable price. A bolt-on construction is employed, with a Basswood body, Quartersawn Maple neck and 22 fret Maple fingerboard. Chrome Relic hardware is fitted, including an EVH Floyd Rose with EVH D-Tuna, Floyd Rose R3 locking nut and EVH Gotoh tuning machines. The pickup installed is an EVH Wolfgang Humbucker, installed in the bridge position, along with a 'Dummy Strat'  fake pickup in the neck. The only control is a master volume, which is labelled as a 'Tone'. 

The Maple neck plays very well, with the EVH Modified 'C' profile feeling nicely slim in the hand and offering a razor sharp and articulate playing experience in all registers. The Oiled finish to the rear of the neck is pleasant to the touch whilst assisting with fast and smooth transitions up and down the neck. The Jumbo frets work in conjunction with the compound radius to ensure that the neck is tailored to the needs of the player in all registers. Indeed, chord playing is comfortable in the lower register, whilst the flatter radius in the higher frets is perfectly suited to fast, technical playing, with enhanced vibrato and string bending feel from the Jumbo frets. The EVH Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo system accommodates all of the guitar acrobatics you can throw at it, facilitating both dive and lift whilst the D-Tuna offers a stable way to achieve drop D tuning. 

The single EVH Wolfgang humbucker installed in the bridge position delivers a hot output that saturates into a thick and throaty distortion as you drive the amp. A robust low end gives way to punchy mids and articulate, sparkly highs that capture all the nuance and accuracy of your fast picking and tapping licks. The single master volume control allows you to ride the gain level of your amp very effectively, bringing you very close to the great man's tone. The theatrical 'hocus-pocus' of the 'Dummy Strat' pickup and dummy 5-way blade switch installed in the neck and middle cavities provide a sense of fun whilst adding to the authenticity of the instrument. A faithful replica of Eddie's guitar that comes very close without breaking the bank.

Hardware: Overall excellent condition. A previous owner has replaced the fine tuners with brass tuners, the originals are not included. Any markings are difficult to discern against the factory relic. Tremolo arm included.
