Telefunken TF47 Stereo Set

The Telefunken TF47 Stereo Set
The Telefunken TF47 Stereo Set is a professional-grade matched pair of large-diaphragm tube condenser microphones built to capture rich, detailed sound with warmth and character. Featuring frequency- and gain-matched capsules, this stereo pair is designed for vocalists, guitars, brass instruments, strings, and percussion. With deep low-end response and a forward midrange presence, the TF47 adds dimension and clarity to any recording setup, making it a strong choice for studio engineers and producers seeking a balanced, vintage-inspired tone. Handcrafted in the USA, it combines classic design cues with modern manufacturing precision.

Vintage-Inspired Sound with Modern Precision
Built with inspiration from the legendary U47, the TF47 features an all-brass, center-terminated K47-style capsule that delivers a full-bodied sound with a punchy midrange and smooth high end. Its frequency curve begins with a gradual midrange rise starting around 500 Hz, peaking near 4 kHz, before rolling off to preserve natural, detailed articulation. Whether used on vocals, guitars, or orchestral instruments, the TF47 offers a warm yet detailed sonic character that sits well in a mix.
Switchable Polar Patterns for Maximum Flexibility
The TF47 Stereo Set offers multi-pattern functionality with cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-eight options. Cardioid provides focused capture for vocals and instruments, omnidirectional suits ambient room recording, and figure-eight is well suited to stereo miking techniques such as mid-side or Blumlein configurations. This flexibility makes the TF47 a reliable tool across recording situations, from solo vocals to complex ensemble sessions.
Premium Components and Superior Craftsmanship
Designed and hand-assembled in the USA, the TF47 incorporates a new-old-stock (NOS) 5840W vacuum tube and a custom-made BV8 transformer, contributing to warm, natural analog sound and distinctive tonal depth. The pair excels on male and female vocals across rock, pop, R&B, and hip-hop, and performs equally well on acoustic and electric guitars, cello, upright bass, trombone, and percussion instruments including kick drums and toms. With its warm, punchy sound and flexible recording options, the TF47 Stereo Set stands as a studio workhorse offering timeless tone for engineers and musicians alike.
