So it's time to part with my only Stingray.  I’ve had this thing a long time and had lots of fun with it. But at my age I’m about done with full scale necks. The great part is it looks, plays and sounds great.  Bought this at an estate sale years ago and what a great find that was. This has been outstanding for me. But with age come both stories and issues. It has a couple dings that are shown in the pics. No artificial relic, just real life wear and tear. Luckily nothing that affects play.  Even the one nick on the neck is in a spot where your hand doesn’t naturally go/feel. Now in the interest of FULL DISCLOSURE I include the following.

When I first bought it I thought the truss rod was broke as I couldn’t turn it.  I took it to a real luthier who took the neck off inspected and told me the truss rod works, but the wood inside the channel has swollen over the years and cause it to bind on the rod itself.  He turned it slowly and measured the change and put it back. So it works…

I've also noticed over the years that the treble knob is actually a push/pull type.  I’m not a Stingray expert but I don’t believe that is stock.  It sounds as it I’m going single coil / parallel within the circuit.  I’ve never opened it up to look around in there as its not broke, I rarely mess with it and I kinda like it like that.

After listing all this it sounds like this is a dog of some sort. I was just being honest / full disclosure of things that I think you need to know. But over the years this has been a great looking / playing old bass that I use regularly.  It sounds fantastic but at my age I'm being force to give up 34 inch necks and start looking for a short scale version. Comes with the original case thats in great shape.
