Up for sale, a 2000 Fender Precision Bass Sting signature model OPB54-145SG in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Inspired by Sting’s preferred Precision Basses (his most iconic being his tried and true from early ‘57) that famously shaped The Police’s iconic sound on hits like “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” this “Crafted in Japan” model reflects the early P Bass feature set, upgraded with a Seymour Duncan SCPB-3 Bass Lines single coil pickup and CTS 250k pots.

Weighing 8lbs 5oz, tonewoods include a lightweight contoured ash body and a one-piece maple neck with a maple fingerboard. The Seymour Duncan SCPB-3 single coil matches vintage spec with black bobbin construction and alnico magnet poles, delivering a strong fundamental punch with a resonance and thump that cuts through with a different tonal color than later split-coil P Bass pickups. The ash string-through body ensures the bass delivers both exquisite sustain and a complex midrange character. This Precision Bass Sting signature model OPB54-145SG has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
