1967 Rickenbacker 4005/6 bass
Incredibly rare 6 string version of Rickenbacker’s infamous hollow body bass. Very few of these 6 string basses were produced and even fewer in Mapleglo. It’s very possible that this is the only one! I purchased this bass from Gruhns Guitars out of Nashville a few years ago and it’s time for me to pass it on.
Maple and walnut 33 1/4” scale neck, this is one of the only long scale mass produced bass VIs
Single checker board bound semi hollow maple body
Two toaster top pickups with their own volume and tones are wired to a 3 way switch and a blend knob all going to a single mono output
Includes the original hardshell case with the bridge cover and a bag of rubber mounting bushings
This bass is in incredibly good condition for being almost 60 years old. The only thing that is notable is a little bit of buckle worming(hasn’t broken the finish), a slight nick on the inside of the lower horn and the bottom of the pickguard has broken off. Currently strung with flats.
