The Yamaha RM2408 is a vintage 24-channel inline analog mixing console featuring 8 subgroups, rather than 32 channels. Key Features:
- Console Design: 24-channel inline mixing frame with 8 subgroups.
- EQ Section: Highly regarded, musical 3-band EQ praised by users on Gearspace for having a distinct character comparable in utility to classic inductor designs when pushed on rock drums and guitars.
- Preamps & Headroom: Vintage discrete preamps that tend to saturate, warm, and distort easily when heavily driven, offering distinct analog color rather than pristine transparency.
- Specialized Application: Favored in modern hybrid setups for warming and overdriving synth or drum machine lines without collapsing the stereo field
