The D-42 sits proudly at the upper tier of Martin’s Standard Series, featuring gorgeous vertical Grained Ivoroid binding, intricate style-45 snowflake fingerboard inlays, and a premium solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. Over nearly two decades, this top has opened up beautifully and developed a warm, rich aging toner that looks and sounds incredible.

• Body/Top: There are several very light, minor surface clear-coat scratches and impressions only visible under direct light—nothing that breaks the finish, no deep dings, and no structural repairs.

• Neck & Frets: The neck is straight and comfortable with optimal action. Frets show almost zero wear and have tons of life left. The ebony fingerboard is smooth and rich.

• Hardware/Electronics: All original gold open-gear tuners function smoothly and hold pitch perfectly. This guitar is completely acoustic unmodified (strap buttons added, no pickup installed).
