For sale is my TRUE Systems Precision 8, an eight-channel professional microphone preamplifier designed for highly detailed, transparent recording.

TRUE Systems designed the Precision 8 for high-quality direct tracking, studio recording, location recording and live sound. It combines eight transparent solid-state microphone preamps in a single 1U rack space with several features that make it particularly useful in a professional recording system.

The Precision 8 was part of my personal recording studio and has been carefully maintained. I am selling it as part of a reduction of my longtime studio and audio equipment, not because of any problem with the unit.

Features include:

• Eight highly transparent solid-state microphone preamps
• Compact 1U rackmount configuration
• Two active, high-impedance FET instrument/DI inputs
• Built-in M/S (Mid-Side) decoding
• Five-segment level metering
• Peak-hold metering with selectable peak reference

One of the strengths of the Precision 8 is that it provides a complete eight-channel front end while remaining extremely compact. Its transparent design makes it particularly well suited to applications where the goal is to accurately capture the character of the microphone, instrument and performance rather than intentionally color the sound.

The built-in M/S decoder is another unusual and useful feature, providing additional control over stereo imaging without requiring an external decoder.

The original TRUE Systems Precision 8 operating manual is included.
