Selling my 1976 Guild D-50NT. This is a real 1970s Westerly Guild with a beautiful natural finish, gorgeous vintage checking, and a big, powerful voice.

The D-50 was Guild’s flagship dreadnought, and these old Westerly guitars are particularly well known for their volume, projection, woody tone and strong bass. This one is a fantastic bluegrass player’s guitar—it has plenty of punch and headroom and sounds great when you really dig into it.

The finish has beautiful natural vintage checking throughout, giving it a lot of character and that unmistakable look of a well-aged 1970s Guild.

Condition / disclosure:

This is a 50-year-old player’s guitar, not a mint collector piece.

There are two stable, unseparated cracks in the top—one alongside the pickguard and one near the neck/fingerboard extension. They have not opened up and, do not affect the playability or sound of the guitar. one of the tuners is missing a screw. “Pic included” Strap holder moved to side as well “indicated in picture“.The heel/neck joint is clean.

Sold without a case.

There is also normal cosmetic wear consistent with a guitar of this age, including pick marks and finish wear.

The important thing is that this guitar sounds GREAT. If you’re looking for a vintage Guild to actually play rather than hang on a wall, this is the kind of guitar that deserves to be played.
