Pisgah Custom Tubaphone 11" 2014 - Walnut A-Scale

This 2014 Pisgah Walnut Custom features traditional dowel stick construction with a walnut rim, walnut neck, persimmon fingerboard with standard frailing scoop, tubaphone tone ring, recently upgraded Jackalope Slim Stern calfskin head, Mulheron bridge, Hawktail tailpiece, and Gotoh tuners. Pisgah serial # 263. Includes shipping in well padded gig bag.

This banjo just came back from Pisgah and received proper skin head tension, nut grooving for nylon strings, and setup. I had them string it with a Romero Custom nylon string set (Savarez yellow card). Pisgah also confirmed that with a simple bridge swap it will run steel strings.

11" head with 23.5" A-scale. Action is currently a tad more than 3mm at the 12th fret. Nut width is 1 5/16. Currently tuned to G and plays very easy especially with the nylon strings. Versatile and handy smaller banjo that as good volume even with nylons but can swap for steel to get that tubaphone sparkle.

To build this configuration today from Pisgah would cost at least $2,467.00. The only reason for selling is for funds to invest in the restoration of an old banjo I just acquired.
