This is a 1994 Hamer USA Californian Deluxe, made in the USA.

Despite being over 30 years old, this example remains in near-mint condition. Its distinctive finish, gold hardware, and performance-oriented design showcase the high-end superstrat concept that defined Hamer’s Californian series during this era.

The guitar features an extended fingerboard reaching up to 27 frets on the treble side, EMG pickups, and a double-locking tremolo system. These features represent Hamer’s highly specialized approach to building professional high-performance guitars in the early 1990s.

The Black & Gold Granite finish features an irregular gold pattern over a black base, creating a striking and highly distinctive appearance. The gold hardware complements the finish, while the dot and boomerang inlays on the ebony fingerboard add to the unique character of the Californian Deluxe. The included original Hamer catalog also shows a model with the same finish.

The neck features a three-piece maple bolt-on construction with an ebony fingerboard. One of the Californian’s most recognizable design features is the extended fingerboard on the treble side combined with the deep cutaway. This allows excellent access to the highest frets while still accommodating a neck pickup.

The pickup configuration consists of an EMG SA in the neck position and an EMG 89 in the bridge position. The SA provides clear, articulate single-coil-style tones, while the 89 delivers the fuller and more powerful response of a humbucker. Together, they provide a versatile range of clean, rhythm, and lead sounds.

The active EMG system offers excellent note definition and controlled output, making the guitar particularly well suited to high-gain applications, fast riffing, and articulate upper-register lead playing.

The bridge is a Hamer-branded licensed Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo, paired with a locking nut. The system provides excellent tuning stability while allowing wide-ranging pitch changes and aggressive tremolo techniques.

As shown in the photos, the guitar remains exceptionally clean for its age. A hard case and Hamer catalog are included.
