Our Notes: In Very Good condition. Inside the violin, one can see stamped into the wood: "Ernst Heinrich Roth, Bubenreuth, Erlangen". Next to that in ink is: "B1 2398". The label reads as follows: "Ernst Heinrich Roth, Bubenreuth-Erlangen 1971, Made in West-Germany, Reproduction of, Antonius Stradivarius, Cremona 1714".
The previous owner kept all records of this violin, including the receipt from when they bought it in 1978 from McKay Music in Davenport Iowa! The instrument features upgraded Caspari Tuning Pegs. In 1982, the instrument was repaired by David R Pope of Davenport Iowa who removed the top to repair and cleat a top crack.
The violin has some marks and some scratches which would be expected on an older instrument that has been played a lot. We cleaned the violin and installed a new set of strings. The case shows some scratches and some wear, but overall, it's in great shape; the latches and hinges are completely functional, and the inner lining is complete with only slight wear. *Please note that this instrument does not come with a bow.*
The Ernst Heinrich Roth 4/4 Stradivarius copy made in 1971, is a high-quality student or intermediate-level violin produced in Germany. This model is noted for its luscious mid-range and a particularly sweet tone on the A string. It is characterized by its quick response and a bright, powerful projection that fills larger performance spaces
