A genuine 1946 C. F. Martin 00-17, serial number 95029.

An excellent example of Martin's classic all-mahogany 00, dating from the immediate post-war period. Serial number 95029 falls within Martin's official 1946 production range and is relatively early in the year's serial sequence.

The 00-17 is known for its distinctive dry, warm and woody tone, with the smaller 00 body making for a very comfortable and responsive vintage acoustic. The all-mahogany construction gives it a character quite different from Martin's larger rosewood models. The guitar presents very nicely for an instrument approaching 80 years old, with genuine age-related wear and patina consistent with its history.

The tuners fitted when I acquired the guitar were non-original Kluson tuners. These have been replaced with period-correct reproduction Kluson-style tuners, selected to be sympathetic to the guitar's original appearance and period. The guitar is accompanied by a vintage Martin case.

This is an authentic vintage instrument with plenty of character and is being offered in its naturally aged condition rather than as a heavily refinished or cosmetically restored example.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. This is an almost 80-year-old instrument and naturally shows signs of age and previous use.

A genuinely lovely vintage Martin with a wonderful combination of history, character and playability.
