I am offering here a Music Man Luke III HH Rosewood Neck Olive Gold from 2012, a handcrafted in San Luis Obispo, California (USA), special signature guitar model of Toto founding member and lead guitarist Steve Lukather, featuring a solid alder body (with total weight of 3.69kg), selected rosewood neck (!) with hand-waxed & hand-oiled neck finish, elegant rosewood fingerboard with 22 low-profile wide frets and pearl dot inlays, two hot DiMarzio Custom humbucker pickups, sophisticated electronics including an active Push/ Push Gain Boost, as well as high-quality Music Man Floating Vintage steel tremolo bridge and Schaller M6-IND locking tuners in a gorgeous Olive Gold Metallic finish, in excellent collector’s condition, including Music Man hardshell case and professional setup with 9-42 Elixir Optiweb strings.

This third-generation Music Man signature model from 2012, created by Toto lead guitarist Steve Lukather, ranks among the crème de la crème of what the American luxury guitar manufacturer Music Man has to offer. Featuring select tonewoods, exquisite hardware, and meticulous craftsmanship, the Luke III is a perfectly engineered instrument brimming with life.

This beautiful Luke III in Olive Gold Metallic comes with an extremely resonant alder body, which—thanks to its balanced total weight of just 3.69kg—also promises excellent playability even during longer sessions. The wildly figured rosewood neck with a hand-applied oil-wax finish and a premium rosewood fingerboard featuring pearl dot inlays offers—typical of Music Man—an incredibly high-quality playing feel that makes your left hand feel right at home.

The DiMarzio Custom humbuckers further reveal extremely versatile sound possibilities, reliably reproducing everything from clean harmonies and tight blues licks to sustain-rich, hot high-gain solo passages. The neck pickup delivers warm, detailed clean and lead tones with pronounced dynamics and outstanding clarity, while the HT humbucker at the bridge complements the sound with punchy mids, precise attack, and impressive presence. Thanks to the intelligently designed 5-way switch, a wide range of sounds is available, including lean, lively single-coil-style options in the intermediate positions via the “Coil Tap” function. This guitar is in excellent collector’s condition and is technically flawless. Visually, there is only occasional finest superficial wear, if any at all (see photos). The frets are flawless.
