Polytone 102 1975 Guitar Amp Combo, Excellent - Black

This Polytone 1975 102 Guitar Amp Combo in black is in excellent condition. This is an ultra-cool, early model of the staple of jazz guitar.

The 102 is a 100-watt solid-state combo running a single 12" CTS speaker (manufacturer code 137, date code 7505). Onboard reverb and vibrato (vibrato described as very subtle) are both present. There is a plate over the section of the faceplate that would correspond to channel 2 — this may indicate a modification or a different model variant.

Everything here is original — tolex covering, cabinet, grille, baffle, chassis, knobs, handle, speaker, power transformer, and reverb tank are all unaltered. The exception to note is the faceplate plate described above, which raises a question about whether this is a stock 102 or a modified or related model. There are no internal repairs. Cabinet, grille, baffle, and chassis are all in excellent condition.

Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to .

Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly of select amps will be required on delivery — we are available to help if you have questions.  Email us if you want to know if a particular amp will be disassembled prior to shipping. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience and are proven to prevent damage to big, heavy, vintage amps. All amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in amplifiers that are 5 to 50-plus years old.
