For sale is an exceptionally rare, investment-grade 1982 Marshall JCM800 Model 4104 50-watt 2x12 combo, complete with perfectly intact chassis.

This is the highly coveted early-era variant featuring the factory vertical input layout (chassis-mounted pots and jacks with hand-wired flying leads) rather than the later horizontal PCB design.

This amplifier has lived an incredibly sheltered life and is a true numbers-matching time capsule, making it a perfect center-piece for serious vintage Marshall collectors or tone purists.

Basically, it sounds every bit as incredible as you would want and expect. All controls are responsive and crackle/noise free.

I bought this amp in the mid-80s and have mostly been a 'bedroom guitar player'. It has been gigged on a few occasions but it hasn't travelled very far and has spent the vast majority of its time up to now in the house.....being incredibly well looked after.

Serial number 05583P officially dates the chassis build to 1982. The gold front and rear faceplates are in beautiful cosmetic shape.

This model houses the original, factory-installed Celestion G12-65 speakers (the holy grail pairing for this circuit). The frames are stamped with code 4QT, explicitly dating their manufacture to 4 August 1982. The labels are pristine and the cones are original.

Electronics - original, untouched circuit. Retains its factory-born Drake transformers (including the legendary 1202-324/2 output transformer) and original UK-made ITT main filter capacitors (date-coded 8215 / mid-April 1982). No circuit mods, component changes, or added toggle switches.

The black elephant Tolex and front black fret mesh have zero tears, zero holes - the tolex has been meticulously maintained. Both original back panels are perfectly intact.

Accessories: Includes a 1980s black vinyl slipcase. The cover is clean and has done a perfect job protecting the amp, showing some minor, typical seam splits from age.
