1992 Ibanez RG 570 GF-TRS with DiMarzio Pickups
I am selling my relatively rare vintage Ibanez RG570GF TRS (Transparent Red Sunburst)—made in Japan in 1992 during the so-called "Golden Era" of production—as I am switching to a Gibson Les Paul as my main guitar.
The original pickups—which can sound somewhat harsh and scratchy—have all been replaced with DiMarzio pickups, resulting in a much more balanced, fat, and rounded tone:
Bridge (DP100F Super Distortion): A classic for fat rock and heavy metal tones. It delivers the punch, mid-range presence, and high output that the original Ibanez pickups sometimes lack.
Middle (DP175S True Velvet): The "RWRP" (Reverse Wind, Reverse Polarity) version. In the intermediate positions (switch settings 2 and 4), it pairs well with the bridge or neck pickup and produces clear clean tones.
Neck (DP151 PAF Pro): Used by the likes of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. It offers a warm, rounded, and singing tone while remaining remarkably clear—without getting muddy—even with heavy distortion.
The 5-way pickup selector switch has been replaced with a new one.
It is also fitted with Floyd Rose Noiseless Tremolo Springs, as the original springs produced too much metallic noise during recording; however, the original springs are included.
In short, I didn't keep this guitar as a collector's item in a plush velvet case; instead, I optimized its sound for practical studio use.
Aside from the usual minor dings and dents, the guitar has a fairly large, noticeable notch on the edge near the pickup selector switch, which is visible in the photos.
The screws on the back plate no longer grip perfectly in every instance. While the large cover plate stays secure, you will notice the issue when screwing it in. The truss rod creaks a bit when adjusted, but it functions exactly as it should in both directions.
Otherwise, there is some wear on the gold hardware.
Here is some general information, followed by the specifications:
