Fender Custom Shop 1955 Stratocaster Heavy Relic - Black

This 1955 Stratocaster has the look of a guitar that’s spent decades onstage, with a Black Heavy Relic finish over an ash body and a dark tinted maple neck. The flash coat lacquer keeps the finish thin, while the worn in feel makes this one easy to settle into from the first chord.

The hand wound Fat ’50s pickups deliver the full, punchy sound you want from a ’50s Strat. The lows have plenty of body without getting muddy, the midrange stays clear and present, and the top end has that familiar Strat sparkle. The reverse wound, reverse polarity middle pickup adds useful versatility across the five switch positions.

A substantial ’54 “U” neck carve gives your hand something to hold onto, while the compound radius and narrow tall frets make bends and lead work feel comfortable. At 7 lbs 7 oz, it has a solid feel without being cumbersome.
