Go back to 1961 with the Fender Custom Shop 1961 Telecaster Heavy Relic from the prestigious Time Machine™ series. This high-end electric guitar has been designed to closely replicate the appearance, feel, and tone of an original early-1960s Telecaster. Thanks to its authentic Heavy Relic finish, this Telecaster looks as though it has been played extensively for decades.

Authentic Vintage Appearance

The body is made from 2-piece roasted alder with an offset seam and finished with classic nitrocellulose lacquer. This combination provides the characteristic vintage appearance and resonance you would expect from a Fender Custom Shop guitar.

The quartersawn maple neck features a comfortable mid-'60s Oval "C" neck profile. The neck is fitted with a high-quality 3A rosewood fingerboard and 21 Jescar vintage frets. The 9.5" (241 mm) radius offers a comfortable balance between an authentic vintage playing feel and modern playability.

Classic Telecaster Tone

For its distinctive Telecaster sound, this Custom Shop model is equipped with a set of Custom Shop Hand-Wound '63 Tele single-coil pickups. Expect the classic combination of twang, attack, and dynamics that the Telecaster is known for worldwide.

The pickups are paired with a 3-way blade switch and '63 Telecaster® wiring, allowing you to easily switch between different characteristic Telecaster tones.
