Washburn R319SWKK Parlor Guitar & Coffin Case - Solid Spruce/Trembesi Body.

Very Good to Excellent condition. A few minor nicks/dings; two repaired top cracks.

This is a modern take on the early 1900s Washburn / Lyon & Healy parlors, undertaken to celebrate 125 years of Washburn. She is in overall excellent condition, with a handful of tiny nicks and scratches, 2 small (1/4" around) detents in the top, and a couple of repaired cracks.

The guitar has a nice, big sound with plenty of volume and a pure acoustic tone. She plays easy, with the short scale allowing easy fretting and barre chords.

I have performed no repairs on this guitar, other than to shim the saddle with a bone shim to raise the action from the prior owner's desired action. She has been strung with a set of light (11-47) phosphor bronze strings, with the action measuring 6/64ths at the bass E, and 4/64ths at the treble e strings at the 12th fret. There is .008" relief in the neck. There is plenty of  room at the saddle to lower the action as needed in future.

Aside from the above, she is in original condition, there are no loose braces, un-repaired cracks, or other repairs to worry about.

The specs and marketing writeup are at the bottom of this listing.

A note on 'action and playability': every guitar's action (the string height at the 12th fret), relief (the amount of forward curve of the fretboard), and playability (the ease with which notes and chords are fretted) will be different depending on the guitar's setup. What is ideal for one person might not suit another, and any adjustment is understood to be the responsibility of the owner. The measurements and description I have provided are accurate and setup references are to my tastes, and may not be yours.

I have repaired and sold many guitars, and pride myself on my thorough description and customer service. The guitar will be packed securely, and shipped with insurance in a sturdy guitar shipping carton. Because of the repairs and investment I've put into this guitar (and that you won't have to), I am pricing this as what I believe to be fair, based the comparable sales I have been able to find. I will entertain reasonable Best Offer. Shipping and handling will be a flat $65 to the CONUS.

Please view all pics and ask any and all questions before buying/making an offer. I have described the condition accurately and completely; while I am certain you will be satisfied with the guitar, this is an as-is sale with no returns unless I have mis-represented something.

The Washburn Parlor is a small-bodied guitar that packs in a surprising amount of volume and punch for its size. The popularity of these guitars peaked between the late 19th century until the 1950s, however, they are making a strong resurgence. Because of the size and incredible projection, many blues and folk musicians have used smaller-bodied guitars like the Washburn R319SWKK Parlor Guitar with much success over the years and permanently stapled them as a true-blue American folk guitar.

The secret to its amazing tone and projection lies in its wood. The solid spruce top and trembesi body create balanced tone with lots of dynamic range, not to mention with a beautiful appearance as well. The dovetail neck joint adds strength to the guitar, and helps the overall tone. The Washburn R319SWKK guitar's mahogany neck and the ebony bridge and fretboard add sturdiness to the instrument and clarity to the overall sound. The 24-3/4" scale, 48mm nut width, 16" radius and V neck shape provides comfort when accessing the acoustic guitar's 18 frets.

Dressed in an aged satin finish, and featuring die-cast tuners and chrome hardware, the Washburn Parlor guitar looks like something right out of a museum, with a timeless tone that will never grow old
