The M Series, which continues to enjoy enduring popularity even now, some 30 years after its debut, is Atelier Z’s flagship model.

The M Series is characterized by a solid low-end and, among JB-type guitars, an exceptionally clear and projecting sound. Recognized by numerous professional musicians both in Japan and abroad, it is truly the quintessential practical active JB model. Crafted with the high precision characteristic of Japanese manufacturing, it features a low-action setup that ensures outstanding playability. It is an extremely durable instrument that maintains stable performance and can be played without any stress.

The controls consist of one volume knob, a pickup balancer, a master tone knob (with a pull switch for passive mode), a treble boost, and a bass boost.

It is equipped with the original pickups, which are characterized by a firm mid-to-low range. The greatest appeal of these pickups is the minimal difference in volume between fingerstyle and slap playing with the same settings.

The preamp features the ultra-classic Bartolini XTCT. The XTCT has been wired with a Spectrum Boost circuit, resulting in a tuning that delivers even greater sound pressure.

This model was custom-ordered with a 17mm fret spacing. Once you get used to it, it allows for very smooth fingering.

The M Series has become a true classic. It’s the perfect choice for anyone seeking a high-quality, bright and punchy sound.
