Here we have a truly rare Epiphone. There is very little information available about this model, and it appears on the used market just as rarely. A guitar that should particularly appeal to collectors and enthusiasts of unusual Epiphones.

It belongs to the Korina series, best known for its Explorer. There was also a Flying V and, of course, this SG. Korina refers to the wood used for the body, while the neck was made from mahogany. It has a few dents in the finish and a crack in the finish on the front, which is also the reason for the lower price.

The frets showed only very minor signs of play, although some of them were sitting slightly too high. We therefore levelled, recrowned and polished them properly before treating the guitar to a complete setup. The result is an excellent string action and buttery-smooth playability.

We believe that this model certainly has some potential as a small investment. Above all, however, we will be pleased if it finds its way into the hands of a guitarist or collector who appreciates its rarity.
