Vintage ‘50s DeArmond RHC-B Soundhole Pickup

Vintage DeArmond RHC-B soundhole pickup. Made by Rowe Industries in Toledo, OH. Probably early-mid 1950s. I’ve owned and sold many of these, but have only seen a handful without the stamp on the chrome housing. Later models also used a different volume pot. I couldn’t see any markings on this pot to help date it. I have an identical one (NFS) in the shop that’s in a customer‘s 1951 Gibson SJ-200. He says his dad bought both new at the same time, but there‘s no way to verify that.

Still attached is the original cable, measuring slightly over 11’. Original sales literature states 12’, so it likely has been cut down some. Includes original aluminum endpin, to accomadate installing without any modifications. Also included is an unused, vintage 1/4” Switchcraft jack. I believe these were originally sold with the option to use the included endpin OR utilize an included 1/4” jack. Don’t know if it’s original, but it was in the box this was found in (Not original packaging).

Measures 10.9K. (The other one in the shop measures 10.54K).

Works great. Volume works. Clean signal, no crackles or pops.
