For sale is a 2002 Martin D-28 acoustic guitar in excellent condition. Serial number 8872xx.
This guitar has been very well cared for and shows remarkably little wear for its age. Only the slightest signs of play wear. The guitar is exceptionally clean for its age, with no significant scratches, nicks or dings. There is one small, light finish rub on the lower right bout, which is difficult to see except at certain angles. I have included a close-up photograph of the area. The pickguard shows normal light pick marks from playing. The finish, top, back, sides and neck are all exceptionally clean.
The frets show minimal wear and the guitar plays very comfortably. Current action measured at the 12th fret is approximately 3/32" on the low E and 2/32" on the high E. There is a good amount of saddle remaining above the bridge. The neck block is stamped D-28 with serial number 8872xx, dating the guitar to 2002.This is the classic Martin D-28: solid spruce top with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and the strong, balanced dreadnought sound for which the D-28 is known.The guitar is in excellent playing and cosmetic condition.
