There’s no doubt that Martin, with nearly 200 years of experience, builds excellent guitars. However, when you venture into limited editions and Custom Shop models, you enter a whole new realm of excellence! The D-28 is THE Martin, the most popular model in the lineup. This particular guitar was custom-ordered by the Italian retailer Meazzi, with only 19 examples made to celebrate the store’s 50th anniversary! The craftsmanship is outstanding, with beautiful finishes that never become excessive. The back and sides are made of rosewood, paired with a Sitka spruce top. The mahogany neck features an ebony fingerboard and matching ebony bridge, decorated with snowflake inlays. The ebony tuner buttons are so elegant they could make a D-45 jealous! More than the quality of the tonewoods themselves, it is the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail that really stand out here.
