Offered for sale is my Kurzweil 1000PX Expander Module. I purchased this one new in 1987 (serial number: 87120439) and have been the sole owner ever since. This 1980s vintage module is in good working condition.
This unit was primarily used in my live performance rigs, where it was part of a multi-keyboard setup. As a professional keyboardist for over 40 years, I understood the importance of taking care of the instruments and equipment I relied upon, and this unit has remained reliable throughout the years of use. While it is 100% functional, the unit shows honest cosmetic signs of professional use, including scratches and other minor marks from being transported and installed in keyboard rigs over the years. This is not a museum piece, but a well-preserved example of vintage Kurzweil hardware.
The unit contains custom sounds and setups from my years of live performance. This was programmed specifically for my multi-keyboard rig, including splits and other performance configurations, so these patches may or may not be useful to the next owner. I've left them intact for anyone who would like to explore them.
I also have a second Kurzweil 1000PX available in a separate listing, that is why the photos show two units rather than one. Buyers interested in purchasing both are welcome to contact me regarding a package arrangement.
This equipment comes from the private professional studio of Professor Joe Carrier, retired composer, producer, recording engineer, and Berklee College of Music Professor Emeritus. Please see my other listings for additional professionally maintained studio equipment.
