Ludwig Breakbeats by Questlove: The Original Pocket Powerhouse

Designed in collaboration with Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the Ludwig Breakbeats is the definitive solution for drummers who need a professional real-world kit that fits in small spaces. Whether it’s a tight club stage, a high-rise apartment, or a street performance, Breakbeats delivers a full, punchy response without the massive footprint. This isn't a toy; it is a high-performance, mobile rhythmic engine designed to move, stack, and get to work.

Gig-Ready Tone & Studio Control

Despite its compact dimensions, the Breakbeats series is voiced to hold its own in any musical setting:

• 7-Ply Hardwood Shells: These shells provide a surprisingly full, balanced projection. The 16 kick punches like a much larger drum, while the 14 wood snare offers a solid, musical center for any genre.
• Remo® Pinstripe Heads: Factory-equipped to be mix-ready, these heads provide a focused low-end and controlled sustain that excels under microphones and in small, reflective rooms.
• Resonant Hardware: The updated Vibra-Band suspension mount allows the rack tom to resonate freely, ensuring you don't lose tonal quality due to the kit's smaller size.

Enhanced Stability & Ergonomics

The latest iteration of Breakbeats features significant hardware upgrades for the working drummer:

• Evolution Series Hardware: Featuring upgraded floor tom brackets and bass drum spurs for rock-solid stability on any surface.
• Redesigned Bass Drum Riser: Lifts the 16 kick to the optimal height, ensuring your bass drum pedal hits the center of the head for a natural feel and maximum thump.
• Stackable Design: Engineered to be packed, stacked, and carried easily, making it the ultimate kit for the drummer on the move.
