Most beginner basses are on borrowed time. You buy one, learn your scales, and before you know it, it's either falling apart at the jack, or you've outgrown it.
This one didn't get that memo.
The Talman TMB420B plays a lot bigger than its price tag suggests. The roasted maple neck feels fast and settled right out of the box, no dead spots, no wobble.
Add in the Dynamix P/J pickups and Ibanez's active 2-band EQ, and you actually get to shape your tone instead of picking one flavor and living with it. The stacked knobs let you blend the P and J pickups, boost or cut your lows, then shape the highs on top of that.
It's a real control setup, not a token knob for decoration.
The finish is a deep matte black, all business. They even blacked out the headstock logo to match, though tilt it under a light and you can still see the engraved script by texture. Small touch, but it shows somebody on the line in Indonesia cared about the details.
This is a BRAND NEW instrument, unplayed, straight out of the box. No gig bag comes with it, so plan for that if you're gigging or traveling with this thing.
