Fender Telecaster 1963
Pre-CBS Tele, neck stamped July 1963. Basically a player grade guitar, refinished alder body (sunburst to natural), also modded back in the 60's and later (neck pu cavity enlarged, extra routing in lower horn, bridge pu cavity intact). Mostly original with some changed parts (pots, cap, pickguard, 80's JV bridge plate, brand new MCB steel saddles - I’ll include the old threaded beasts, they are frozen). Honest playing wear overall. Refretted with large frets eight years ago, tuners were changed but originals put back on. Bridge pickup in original condition, neck pickup recently rewound to vintage specs by German pickup authority Andreas Kloppmann.
A superior instrument sound- and playingwise! Just over 3kg, warm, woody tone and extremely resonant with very even responsiveness across the whole fretboard. Just what you are looking for in a golden aera guitar. Great feeling neck, plek-ed for perfection last year. New Reunion Blues case.
Lastly this guitar has a fascinating back story. It was owned and played by British blues legend Alexis Korner, who apparently had it modded to stereo and most prominently used it opening for the Rolling Stones with his band New Church at the legendary Hyde Park Open Air in July 1969, just a few days after the decease of Brian Jones - see pics (note the V-shaped grain pattern near the rear strap button and the 'AK'-mark under the bridge pu plate).
I have plenty more photos in case you are genuinely interested.
