Collector Alert - Rare BC Rich Ironbird Limited - 2008 - White Pearl w/Silver bevels

When it comes to BCR Imports, this is hands down one of the holy grails...

Super rare and HIGHLY sought after, the 2008 Ironbird Limited from WMI is sure to be the center of attention on any stage, or in any collection.

Only a handful of these were made at WMI in Korea in '07 (for '08 release) before they shifted production to China, and these early Korean models are impossible to find...

NOTE - (The production ran out of the World Music Instruments (WMI) factory in South Korea. Early in the run, B.C. Rich shifted production of that specific model to China to cut costs, and the model was discontinued shortly after.

While the Chinese models are also rare and are still official B.C. Rich products, the Korean-built ones are highly preferred by collectors due to - superior craftsmanship, wood selection, hardware quality and legitimate rarity, (being an even rarer and better variant, of an already rare and highly desired model!)

Based on the B.C. Rich import dating format utilized during the late 2000s, your serial number P08071560 translates perfectly and confirms that you have the highly desirable South Korean-built model. [1, 2]The serial number breaks down as follows:

• P: The production month code, which stands for December (A=Jan, C=Feb, E=Mar... skipping certain letters down to P=Dec). [1]
• 08: The factory identification code for World Music Instruments (WMI) in South Korea. This confirms it did not come from the Chinese production batch. [1, 2]
• 07: The year of manufacture, meaning the guitar was built in 2007. Note: Because it was manufactured in December 2007, it was produced as part of the stock ready for the official 2008 catalog and model year release. [1]

Your guitar is an early, factory-spec Korean build, featuring the high-quality WMI craftsmanship, premium wood selection, and bright metallic silver bevels. [1]

This rare bird borderlines between Very Good and Excelent condition with a tiny finish crack (pictured) on one side of the neck pocket (common for a bolt on) and a tiny dent (pictured) down by the upper horn, but not on the point. The 2 metal knobs have seen some tarnishing (pictured) over the years, but are easily replaced with $10 and a visit to Amazon. All pointy bits are perfect.

The unfinished neck is blazing fast, thin, snappy and responsive. The Floyd is smooth and holds tune. I'm not 100% what floyd it is, some info says they are original Floyds, some say they are 1000's. Either way the trem has all hardened steel parts and works great.

The original Rockfield Pickups were upgraded with a Seymour Duncan - Pearly Gates set before I got it, and are not included. I have upgraded the screw-on whammy bar (yuck, lol) with a licensed Floyd Rose push in type whammy bar, (which I do for all my Floyd trems, 100%).

Who knows when another of these rare Korean birds will pop up, even the Chinese versions are super rare these days and are going for good $$$...
