The Yamaha CS8W is a double braced boom cymbal stand built for flexible positioning, quick cymbal changes, and controlled resonance. Its 43 cm boom arm can be stored inside the upper pipe, allowing the stand to switch from boom to straight positioning while becoming more compact for transport. The stand adjusts from 83 to 159 cm and weighs 5.1 kg.

Fast Cymbal Changes and Precise Angle Control

The Quick Release Nut attaches and detaches by pinching the movable side section, then turns to fine tune cymbal swing and resonance. A built in locking mechanism helps keep the nut secure, while the metal screw supports repeated tightening. The Step Free Tilter provides smooth, infinite angle adjustment so the cymbal can be placed where the player wants it.

Secure Boom Positioning and Adjustable Cymbal Response

The hinged boom tilter clamp grips the boom arm on three sides and works with a memory lock receiver shaped to reduce lateral play. The Sound Enhanced Cymbal Washer uses a removable outer section so players can alter cymbal response. Yamaha frequency analysis found increased low frequency output and sustain compared with a conventional felt washer, with further gains when the outer section was removed.

Double braced legs create a substantial base, while the leg base uses a resin spacer for smooth, quiet movement. Refined wing hardware and compact folding leg rubber round out a stand built for repeatable setup in rehearsal, recording, and live performance.
