The Focusrite RedNet R1 is a desktop monitor controller designed for Focusrite Red audio interfaces and Dante audio networks. It provides hands-on control of source selection, monitor routing, talkback, and headphone monitoring for stereo through immersive surround configurations up to 7.1.4, including Dolby Atmos workflows.
Source and Monitor Management
RedNet R1 manages up to 32 audio source channels organized across eight groups, routing them to a maximum of 12 monitor output channels. Monitor controls include level, reference level presets with lock, dim, mute, solo modes, and A/B switching between monitoring setups. Up to four fold-down presets allow quick switching for checking downmixes from immersive to stereo formats.
Talkback
A Dante-enabled talkback section uses either the built-in microphone or an external mic via the rear-panel XLR input, with up to four destination groups when paired with a Red interface. The headphone output drives high-impedance headphones up to Ω. RedNet R1 is configured through RedNet Control 2 software and powered via PoE or the included DC supply.
