Prominy SC Electric Guitar 2 Virtual Instrument Kontakt (Activation Card)

SC Electric Guitar 2 is the second generation of the library that made Prominy's name, and it is enormous: roughly 200,000 samples across 147 GB. The source is a Fender Stratocaster that Prominy modified specifically for the recording, fitting separate output jacks so the neck, middle and bridge pickups could be captured at the same time through their own signal paths. That is why all five pickup selector positions are available as real recordings rather than as filtered versions of one take.

The SC2 SPI, Prominy's Super Performance Instrument engine, is what makes that library playable from a keyboard. It reads the performance and chooses articulations in real time, so legato slides, hammer-ons and pull-offs, natural and pinch harmonics, vibrato, trills, picking tremolo, unison, stationary and double bends, mutes and release noise all come out of ordinary MIDI playing rather than out of a key-switch spreadsheet. Feedback, moving harmonics and the whammy bar cricket effect are in there too.

The chord library is the part no other developer matches. SC2 carries real recorded chords across two string dyads, octaves, major, minor, 7th, m7, maj7, add9, sus4, 9th, sharp 9th, m9, maj9, dim7 and aug shapes, plus open and low position voicings, with emulated chords filling in further variations. A User Chord Editor gives per-string control for anything outside that set, and the Strum Key and Arpeggio Key behaviour is configurable. Auto Stroke Detection handles down and up strokes, and double-tracking is built in.

For getting to a finished sound quickly there are amp simulators and effects with a drag and drop chain, and more than 250 mix-ready signal chain presets. The Fretboard Monitor gives real-time visual feedback on what is sounding, and the sampled range extends below standard tuning, down to a low C.
