Vintage Boss DS-1 Distortion, made in Japan and dating to October 1982 based on the original 231000 serial/date code inside the battery compartment.

This is an original black-label Japanese DS-1 from the early 1980s, predating the later Taiwan and current-production versions.

The pedal shows cosmetic wear consistent with its age. Velcro has been applied to the bottom and is adhered over part of the original Made in Japan label. The original label has begun to lift with the Velcro. I carefully pulled the Velcro back only far enough to photograph and verify the original label, then left the remainder in place to avoid damaging or removing it. Please see photos for exact condition.
