1962 Vintage Gibson SG “Les Paul” Junior JR Electric Guitar

The les paul part is important cause the sg was still called les paul from 1961-62

I got this from the 2nd owner. He said he got it in Hawaii over 30 years ago. He said when he found it the paint was cracked and just falling off and that it was already partly chipped off, he said probably due to the weather. Besides the looks it has a perfectly straight neck and zero cracks, breaks or repairs. 

The guitar has most of its original parts. The electronics are 100% original with pots dating 1962 and p90 that reads exactly 8k ohms. The pickup sounds fantastic and clean has a woody wonderful full sound and when cranked through an amp it can get perfect Black Sabbath tone. Great for blues, rock etc..

The wrap around bridge is not original, it came with a 70’s gold “badass” branded adjustable wrap tail which i will include for free along with the light weight modern one shown in pics. The studs are original though. The knobs are original. The pickguard looks good but its only got 4 screws for mounting so i would assume it is not stock, although it looks awesome. As though it was a earlier 1952 sg haha, like early fender had less screws. 

The neck is perfection, not too huge and not too thin. Perfect middle sized early gibson neck. Original frets are huge and play with ease, bending all up and down. Original nut in great shape. Original truss cover. Original single line tuners hold tune great. 

No cracks or repairs! Body truly looks like the paint just fell off to natural wood. I don’t see any sanding marks. Previous owner said he did sand the headstock face just to get it flat and remove the messed up cracked paint.
