This ones an unusual one that has a great story behind it. Was sold on behalf of a widowed Hairdresser in Pigeon Forge, TN. Her husband had a bunch of guitars and had a 76 marauder he wanted the body to be the shape of a Bird to represent the song Freebird by Skynard. She says he loved that song and would play it often.

When I got this guitar it needed rewired and some new pots installed. So I put in a nice set of Bourns pots. And an orange drop capacitor.

the pickups, bridge tailpiece neck tuning keys neck plate and end pins are all from the maurader. The pickgaurd is modified from the old marauder pickguard and they cut it really clean.
Guitar is a little rough around the edges but it was well loved and then put in storage after the gentleman’s death.
Has some finish checking and dings, the back it checked right along the seams of the body assuming its three pieces and like gibson did in those days a pancacked body also. Guitar weighs around 9.7lbs so its not light.

I don’t have a case to fit it but will ship it so it gets to you in the same condition it leaves here. I will also insure it.
Gibson logo is checked and as you can see seen better days. Neck has some paint rub from a stand or hanger.

Hardware has patina chrome has been around moisture so has some pitting.

Now the important part

This guitar plays and sounds great!

Neck is stamped with a date Valentines Day Feb 14th 1976

Neck has a chunky gibson profile (it is a Gibson Marauder afterall)

Frets look great rosewood fretboard is gorgeous!

Tuning keys have a nice patina to them that would make murphy lab jealous!
these pickups get ya classic gibson tones and the bridge pickup can almost do a tele but it is a humbucker inside it

This is a one of a Kind unicorn that was very important to its original owner. He would want it to continue to make some music and play some Skynard!

If you have any questions feel free to ask and check out my tiktok channel Kinnatone Music I have videos of the process of getting the guitar where it was to where it is now.
