The Old Blood Noise Endeavors (OBNE) Dark Star Pad Reverb V2 is a specialized boutique effects pedal designed to create dark, atmospheric, and lo-fi ambient soundscapes. Unlike a standard room or plate reverb, the Dark Star is specifically built to generate long, evolving "pads" underneath your playing.

Core Reverb Modes:

The pedal processes a long-tailed reverb signal through three distinct experimental modes:

• Pitch Mode: Features two independent pitch-shifting controls. One dials in a +1 octave shimmer, while the other adds a -1 octave sub-drone for massive, synth-like textures.
• Delay Mode: Adds an atmospheric digital delay after the reverb. You can adjust the Delay Time and Delay Feedback to create deep, cascading echoes that can push into wild oscillation.
• Crush Mode: Combines pitch-shifting (+/- one octave) with a harsh Bit Crusher. This allows you to add gritty, digitized, and lo-fi textures to the reverb decay.

Control Layout & Hardware Features

• Knobs: Standard controls include Mix (from 100% dry to 100% wet) and Reverb (which sets the trail length). Two dedicated tweak knobs (CTRL 1 and CTRL 2) change functions depending on which of the three modes you select.
• Hold Footswitch: A secondary, momentary footswitch that freezes whatever note or chord is currently ringing out into an infinite, sustaining pad. You can continuously play clean licks over this frozen background drone.
• Clickless Switching: Soft-touch bypass switches remove the loud pop common in traditional mechanical pedal switches. 
• Expression Input: An external expression pedal jack that can be mapped to control either the CTRL 1 parameter or the Reverb decay on the fly. l
• Internal Volume Trimpot: V2 fixes the volume drop issues found in some V1 units by including an internal trimpot to adjust output gain (for a boost, cut, or unity gain).
