I’ve got a Yamaha Subkick for sale. It’s in great shape - studio use only - and comes with its original mounting hardware, and a 3rd party bag for the transducer.
If you’re not familiar with this, it is a speaker mounted inside a drum shell. The speaker is used as a microphone - basically a speaker in reverse. It has a screen in front of the speaker to protect it. It has a standard XLR balanced output jack, and you place it in front of your bass drum. I’ve also. heard of it being used on deep floor tom.
It was created by Yamaha with pro drummer Russ Miller, who has played on hundreds of albums, as well as in the house band on American Idol. Russ’s signature is on the shell. Of course, being a Yamaha product, it looks classy and is well-constructed.
These don’t come up for sale too often; when they do, they often look like they’ve been poorly treated at gigs. This one is beautiful.
