Otari MX-80, 2-inch 24-track analog multitrack, with the matching CB-124 remote control unit. Made in Japan, late 1980s. This is the full floor-standing version on casters with the 24-channel meter bridge.

I bought this directly from Pretty Tony, the Miami producer. It came out of a working room and real records went through it.

It was working the last time it was run. It has been in storage since, so it needs a proper wake-up before you track anything serious on it. One of the rollers may need replacing, that's the specific fault I'm aware of. Beyond that, assume what any machine of this age needs after sitting: recap, full alignment and calibration, and a look at the heads. I'm not going to sell you a "fully serviced, ready to go" story. It isn't that, and the price reflects it.

Heads look good to my eye but I'm not a tech and I'm not going to make a claim I can't back up. Happy to shoot detailed close-ups of the head block on request, and if you want your own tech to look at it before you commit, that's fine by me.

Cosmetically it shows honest studio wear: scuffs and dirt on the panels, some yellowing to the white. Nothing broken. Nothing missing that I can see. All 24 VU meters are present and intact. Photos are of the actual unit, not stock images.
