This is a 16 inch 1971 Gretsch archtop case -- with arched top AND arched back. Great quality Ess & Ess case. Rock solid on inside and outside. All latches and hardware are present and working. Kind of a circular pattern Rhino-hyde tolex....built to last - and it DID! The early 70s cases are my favorite -- just really nice build quality.
The footprint in the lid shows two switches in the upper bout and the presence of a Bigsby, which likely meant this was the home of a double cutaway Nashville 6120 DC with vibrato. But any of the 16 inch models will fit....Nashville single or double cutaway, Brian Stetzer, Monkees 6123, Tennessean, Anniversary, Double Anniversary.
The case shows some light normal handling wear overall...minor loss of tolex on the bottom rim on the valance....one bit of tolex needs glued back down...missing the case pocket pull tab....minor stuff. The case is rock solid and works great. Very nice inside -- the ribbons over the hinges are all intact. For a 55 year old case -- it is really nice. Too bad we don't make them like this anymore! The quality of this case makes TKL run home and cry.
Very solid case to put with your 16 inch vintage Gretsch.
