The BAE 1073D is a premium version of the classic Neve 1073 channelstrip hand built in a 3 slots size 500 series format. This unit is in near mint condition and is working great. It was recently tested throughout in studio, where all functions were checked. This unit has serial number 0593 and sounds great.

The BAE 1073D 500 Series Mic Pre/EQ is a stellar re-creation of the classic Neve 1073. This three-slot 500 series preamp delivers that signature Neve sound, now for a fraction of the price. The 1073 design has been a favorite on drums, guitars, vocals, bass, and pianos, for decades. You can easily achieve a warm, silky sound, or drive the preamp to get beautiful harmonic distortion, which is great for that "Revolution" guitar tone, or gritty vocal performance.

The 1073D offers the same EQ as the original Neve 1073, but with some added frequencies on the high band. The standard 1073 12 kHz band is available, along with options to select 10 kHz, and 16 kHz. You can choose to completely bypass the EQ with the EQL selector switch on the front panel, or engage EQL without adding any EQ to give color of the transformer.

The output knob is great for getting the right amount of harmonic distortion, without clipping the input to your audio interface. Since the output knob is post EQ, it can be used to dial back the signal if the EQ boost is pushing your convertor over the top.

1073D can be used as a stand alone DI, great great for bass, keyboards, or even a guitar you wish to Re-Amp down the road. A ¼” input and DI selector switch is on the front panel for easy access.

Send signal back through the 1073D in “Line” mode to use the EQ as a stand-alone unit. Also gives access to the line input preamp, which can be used as a trim, or you can use it to add more warmth, and grit to whatever source you send it.
