JHS Low Drive V2 – Discontinued – Excellent Condition – Rare Early JHS

Up for sale is a JHS Low Drive V2 in excellent condition. This is a discontinued, early-era JHS pedal from 2013 and an increasingly difficult model to find, particularly in clean condition.

The Low Drive has an interesting place in JHS history. It evolved from the JHS 808/Tube Screamer lineage and was originally designed to give bass players an overdrive that retained much more low-end response and clarity than a traditional overdrive. Guitar players quickly discovered how good it sounded as a guitar overdrive as well, particularly because it preserves the low end instead of thinning out the signal.

The V2 is especially desirable because JHS added a 3-way gain/clipping toggle, giving the pedal three distinct voices:

• V1 clipping – the original Low Drive clipping character
• Open boost – more open and dynamic
• LED crunch – bigger, more aggressive overdrive

Along with the Volume, Tone and Drive controls, the three-way toggle gives the V2 considerably more versatility than the original version.

Another great feature is its ability to operate at 18V for additional headroom and punch.

The Low Drive is also historically significant within the JHS lineup because its development eventually led to the JHS Moonshine, making it an interesting piece for anyone collecting discontinued or early JHS designs.
