Just in at Oppleman's Trading & Exchange Co. in Allen Park, MI. Check out this 2006 Guild F-40 with upgraded electronics. This guitar plays and sounds beautiful, and as you can see from the photographs, this guitar has been PLAYED.
There is cracking in the finish on the Sitka Spruce top. However, these are your typical "spiderweb" finish cracks and there are no cracks in the actual top or side wood(s). There is also a small chip mid-neck - nothing that digs or pokes at your hand while playing, but something that you notice when looking at the guitar.
This guitar was produced during Guild's Tacoma, Washington era and the craftsmanship speaks for itself. When you pick up and play this instrument, it has that "broken in" feel and the warm, resonate sound of 20 year old USA made guitar. This F-40 also has a great soundhole pickup system with volume and tone controls - not to mention the robust endpin jack that threads off and takes AA batteries. (easy to access and change)
