AER Compact 60 CGP Tommy Emanuel Signature Model does something that is quite hard to do… It amplifies and sonically reproduces acoustic instruments transparently. It doesnt add color or modify your guitar’s sound, but just amplifies it beautifully. 

I’ve had several other acoustic guitar-specific amps before, and to varying degrees they are all adequate and will get you 80% of the way there. if that is all you need, then save your money - this is not the right amp for you (but you probably already know that, otherwise you wouldn’t be looking at AERs)

But you are probably one of the 20%ers in search of the holy grail of acoustic guitar amps. This is the amp you want when you have a higher-end guitar that you want to sound amazing when you are plugged in The AER gives one of those holy-grail sort of experiences

This Tommy Emmanuel signature version has a few features that are different from the standard

• Aboriginal snake art carved in one side, with TE initials and CGP (Certified Guitar Player) designation carved in the other side ( very cool looking).
• Gig Bag with TE signature strap
• A duplicate of Tommy’s Alesis Midiverb II effect (reverb/delay) on board in the effects section.

Pan control can blend internal and external effects (effect loop is provided on back) between channels 1 and 2, with reverse direction of rotation for the external effects.

There is also some built in tone shaping function that is nothing short of black magic, as far a I‘m concerned I have a plain old K&K in my Collings, and when I hit that “colour” button, and my guitar miraculously sounds like an acoustic - no Piezo quack -it’s magic, I tell you!! In my experience I have hardly had to tweak the EQ on the amp at all ( I was NEVER able to do that with my Fishman Loudbox).

FYi, this model difficult to get, and those that carry it have jacked the price way up. Amazon now sells it for almost $2200. This one is in excellent condition for less than half that price!
