Collings guitars are one of the most highly regarded brands in the world. The consistently high level of craftsmanship of Collings guitars captivates players from the moment they pick up and hear the instrument. This particular instrument is an OM-28 style, the "OM2H Cutaway," with a cutaway option. It's a used 1995 model. Features include a spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, Waverly tuners, diamond and square fingerboard inlays, tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, ivoroid binding, herringbone trim, zigzag backstrip, and original X-bracing. The cutaway option allows for smooth access to the higher positions. This specification fully utilizes the characteristic of Collings guitars, where tonal changes are minimal depending on the position. This is a very welcome feature for players who frequently move up and down the fingerboard. It produces a thick, clear, and distinct tone, typical of Collings guitars. Compared to current models, it has a slightly softer and more subdued tone, but the characteristic Collings tone remains unchanged even with this specification. It produces a well-defined sound, a brilliant and loud American sound, and an extremely accurate pitch. It's easy to see why it's favored in genres such as bluegrass and solo guitar. Its high level of practicality as both an instrument and a tool is also part of its high reputation. The OM is an all-rounder that suits any playing style. There are only two minor dents on the tip of the headstock, some light pick scratches near the pickguard, some tarnishing on the tuning pegs, and some light scratches all over the body surface, but it doesn't look like it's about 30 years old. The neck is also in very playable condition, with good saddle height and plenty of fret life left. This is a guitar that can be used for many more years to come. This is an excellent OM guitar that can easily handle everything from bold strumming to bluegrass and jazz-style playing with a flat pick, covering low to high tones, and even the delicate, expressive fingerwork required for challenging techniques. Please experience its high quality for yourself.
