This '78 SG Standard plays like a dream and looks like its been through the trenches--because it has. Forty-eight years of touring miles, belt buckle scars, and relentless gigging have worn the finish raw on the back, but thats not a flaw; its a resume. The Gibson Humbuckers are original and cut through like they always have. Frets were refreshed, the bridge got swapped in for a standard unit, and now you've got a genuinely playable instrument without the wallet-destroying price of a mint '78.
This is a working SG. It's not here to hang on a wall looking pretty. (though it does that well too) Its here to remind you that vintage gear doesn't have to be coddled--it can be played. (And should be, if you ask me) This neck is slim and fast, the tone is fat and articulate, and the whole thing sits in that sweet spot where vintage character meets real-world durability. This guitar has also received a refret from this shop with the works--fingerboard has been re-radius'd with a new nut and the fingerboard looks brand new. Walnut finish still glows under the worn patina. Original hardware where it matters. This is the beater that plays better than most player-grade new guitars twice the price.
This is a USED Instrument in GOOD condition.
