Ka-Lae's Hawaiian Ukulele Instructions Book, circa 1950s

Vintage circa 1950s Ka-Lae’s Hawaiian Ukulele Instructions booklet, a charming 16-page teaching guide published by Associated Sales Ltd. of Honolulu, Hawaii. This revised edition covers basic playing technique, illustrated chord positions, fingerboard charts, solo playing and traditional tunes including “Aloha Oe” and “America,” along with a short history of the ukulele. The 60¢ cover price, typography and instructional photography point to a 1950s production date, most likely the mid-to-late 1950s. A neat piece of genuine Hawaiian music ephemera showing expected age and handling wear, including some cover staining and paper loss at the lower rear corner, while remaining complete and very presentable.
