There are bad asses, and there are BAD ASSES!! Steve Ferrone would be the later.
In the world of "first call” drummers, Steve Ferrone is the first one they call. Just ask Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, George Harrison, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Rick James, Slash, Chaka Khan, Bee Gees, Al Jarreau, Mick Jagger or Johnny Cash. When iconic bands like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Average White Band, Duran Duran and Aerosmith needed to replace their “irreplaceable” drummers, Steve Ferrone was the guy who stepped up.
Steve played a lot of drums throughout his career and he's saved almost every one of them. He has drums from Ludwig, Pearl, DW, Gretsch, Rogers and more. Some are custom made, some are rare prototypes, all are stellar drums. Nothing made it into his collection unless it was exceptional.
Steve is thinning down his collection to just the drums he needs for his current gig with Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs, and his steady stream of session dates. Steve’s collection is being offered for sale, hoping these drums find buyers who appreciate their history and continue making great music with them.

This 1980s 3x14" Pearl Brass Free Floating Piccolo snare drum was owned and used by Steve Ferrone. The snare was part of Steve's extensive collection of studio snare drums played on countless recordings since the 1980s.

The drum has seen extensive use in it's decades of service. The snare is in overall great condition, however one of the tension rods and the lug insert that it screws into is missing (see pic, it's an easy part to replace). There's lots of minor scuffs but nothing else that would get in the way of the drum looking and sounding great.

We left the head, including his muffling tape exactly as we received it from Steve.

Steve signed the batter head. A pair of Steve's stage played signature model sticks and a COA signed by Steve are included.
